Merging with Word2016 Eliminating Blank Lines from Merge Docs
Word 2016 does not appear suppress blank lines when merging. After a long search, we believe we have found a solution which we have tested successfully.
In your merge documents where you are using the contact fields for labels and the inside address for letters, the addition of the '\f' switch is giving some relief.
{Merge "ToWhom2" \f} ... the \f switch eliminates the blank. We placed the switch on ToWhom2, Company, Title and Adr3 - Adr6.
You will need to test this and if it works well, try it on a letter before adding the switch to all merge documents.
